The intention of this article is to bring to our attention the part we play in our healing and to make us aware of the internal and external factors that may delay and even hinder our healing. It is not intended to condemn or discourage. The Word of God says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.” (Hosea 4:6). Many times it’s the things we don’t have “knowledge” of that destroys us. My prayer is that this will help you find some answers to help you grab hold of the great promise of healing that our Lord has paid for. I also pray that the information you find here will help you as you minister to loved ones and others who are hurting.
Its pretty clear when you consider certain Scriptures that God wants us well. Healing is part of one of God’s own names (Exodus 15:26), and Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus consistently showed God’s mercy and compassion by healing all who came to Him with even a little faith, and the apostles and early church continued this ministry. The prophet Isaiah talked about Jesus bearing our sicknesses and carrying our diseases in his substitutionary atonement for us, and that with his stripes we are healed (see Isaiah 53:4,5). This makes healing part of our salvation purchased at the cross. It makes sense because the words for salvation and healing are the same in the New Testament. David said that the Lord “forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases” (Psalm 103:3) while John wrote that “I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers” (3 John 2). James promised in the case of sick people “the prayer of faith will heal the sick” while Jesus promised that in His name, believers “shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover” (Mark 16:18). Jesus said that we could speak to any mountain (including sickness) and it will move if we don’t doubt. Peter identified sickness clearly as the work of the devil in Acts 10:38, while John said that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). Taken together, these and other Scriptures make it pretty clear that God wants people well. We have already dealt with the objection that the fact that people don’t get healed after prayer proves that it is not God’s will to heal in every case. But if all this be so, why do so many still fail to receive healing, even amongst those who seek it through Jesus Christ. There are answers to this question. When we consider them all, it is remarkable that so many do receive healing at all!
In another article we considered some of the traditions of men that have formed a powerful barrier to the development of faith for healing. This is the major reason why divine healing is not universally practiced and received in the Christian church. We will now consider other reasons people are not healed.
Insufficient Instruction – Ignorance Concerning the Healing Power of the Gospel
There are plenty of Scriptures which show that healing has been purchased for us as part of our redemption. But if these Scriptures are not preached or meditated upon, they will not produce the faith that moves the heart of God to divinely heal those in need.
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” (Romans 10:17). So if people aren’t hearing the Word about healing, or are hearing something that leaves them unsure if God wants to heal them, there won’t be any faith for healing. There will only be doubt, unbelief or confusion. God has not promised to respond to prayers where the heart is full of doubt and uncertainty. To overcome this, people need to hear the promises of the Word of God, preferably from someone who actually believes they are true, relevant and up-to-date. Faith is best imparted by the ministry of those who themselves are full of faith. There is such a thing as the “spirit of faith”, which believes something, and so talks about it (2 Corinthians 4:13).
When people are not sure if God wills to heal them, they cannot ask with what the Bible calls faith. Faith is being sure of something hoped for (Hebrews 11:1), but if you are not sure if God really wants to do it, you can’t be sure that you will obtain what you ask. That isn’t faith. Jesus told us to believe that we receive what we ask for in prayer (Mark 11:24). He never promised to answer prayers we offer in a spirit of uncertainty and wishful hoping. He expects us to actually believe the promises.
People get saved when they hear the gospel and understand God wants to save them. Without this conviction of God’s willingness to save and forgive them personally, people remain unsure that God will save them – and they don’t get saved. The same principle applies to divine healing. If people don’t get the message that God really wants them better, if they feel somehow that they must pay the consequences of their own sin in the form of suffering with sickness, or if they are left with the impression that God will heal some, but not all, they cannot have steadfast faith for their own healing. God may heal them through the gifts of the Spirit in spite of this uncertainty, but many in this condition remain unhealed. Some who are touched by the power of God and receive a measure of healing, later lose it because they do not know how to resist the satanic spirits of infirmity and unbelief that come against them after they receive a healing touch.
Neglect of the Ministry of Healing by the Church
Jesus said that believers would lay hands on the sick and they would recover, and that the prayer of faith by the elders would heal the bedridden sufferer, but the church is still often neglecting these promises and instructions. A lot of stuff might be happening in the church life, but unless the church applies itself to actually going for results in the area of divine healing, and telling people what God’s Word says about healing as a covenant blessing of God, a lot of people are going to miss out. The example of others in the church who have failed to receive often discourages those who are currently challenged in their health. Instead of taking it lying down, the church should militantly pray, fast if necessary, seek the leading of the Holy Spirit, and give attention to the preaching of those truths which are calculated to produce faith for healing. Then action needs to be taken in line with a belief that God is serious about doing His part when we do ours.
Neglect of the Holy Spirit and the Fullness of the Spirit
Unless the church is serious about getting filled with the Holy Spirit and staying that way, the church will consistently fall short of God’s intentions with respect to divine healing. It is by the power of the Holy Spirit that divine healing takes place – therefore the Holy Spirit must be honored and followed if we really want His power to be manifested according to the Word of God.
In his home town of Nazareth, Jesus could not do any mighty miracles, because of the peoples’ unbelief. Even Jesus was hindered by community unbelief which prevented Him from moving strongly in the power of God. Nowadays the preaching of traditions and questionable interpretations of certain Scriptures has turned a lot of places into real Nazareth’s of unbelief, especially in the western world. Its easier to get results in divine healing in places where the gospel has not been preached than in places where traditional Christianity has been around for a while, often inoculating people against the power of God. Also, its often harder to get results in your own home town where people know and possibly despise you than it is in other countries and regions. That is one reason why it is good to go somewhere else to preach the gospel if the Lord sends you or gives you opportunity to do so. If this principle was true in the life of Jesus Christ, it certainly could be the same for us also at times.
If the consensus of religious opinion amongst Christians is against the expectation that God will move in divine healing, it is difficult to “buck the system” and get people to believe what you are preaching from the Word of God. Established ministries may find it threatening.
Trusting and Looking to Something Else
Multitudes are receiving healing in some of the poorer areas of the world such as Africa, India. Even in South and Central America, and parts of Asia divine healing is relatively commonplace. Some people ask, “Why does it always seem to happen there?” Actually it does happen in the West, but it happens less often for a variety of reasons. One is that people find it much easier to go straight to the doctor for help rather than to the Lord. They are not willing to invest as much time and money in seeking the Lord for healing as they would in a doctor. We think we can solve things with our social security systems and our money. And so when real trouble comes we are often still looking in vain to those sources which cannot bring a remedy, instead of looking to the Lord. People are content to accept the verdict of the doctor in so many cases – they do not seriously consider this: that one Word from God can make all the difference in the world.
I notice that in John 5:1-15 there were many people who were sick but only one man was healed. Everyone was so busy focusing on that pool with its supposed healing properties that they ignored the Author of life and healing Himself when He came into the place. Even the crippled man himself who was healed seemed more focused on the pool than on the Lord. It is like this in hospitals and places where people have their hope and faith in doctors more than anything else. You can’t always get people to consider the Lord.
When people have no other hope to cling onto, they are far more attentive to the promises of God with regard to divine healing. And it is quite possible that the Lord, being very good and compassionate, is especially interested in blessing the poor of this world. Many times they have stronger faith, because they are often not as distracted. Of course, this is not always the case. There are some rich people who are very focused on the Lord, and some poor people who are totally distracted and have no time for God. But more often than not it is the other way around.
Another thing is this: if Western churches want to see more of the miraculous, they should give more place to ministers who are experienced in this area, and give more time to them in their pulpits. I am amazed at how little this is done. I am not suggesting that miracle gifts should dominate the agenda of the church, but they have their place. The church leadership in the west has made it clear that they value entertainment more than the power of God. “Give the people what they want” is a ruling ministry philosophy today in many places. Musicians have become the chief ministers of the church in the west. There’s plenty of time for solo items from people of natural talent, and little time for prayer and the gifts of the Holy Spirit in modern western Pentecostal churches. It is no wonder that there is so little demonstration of the Holy Spirit and power when it is most needed.
Improper Eating Habits
As Christians, our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). This is one very excellent reason to care for them. Many in the west are addicted to junk food. Highly processed foods often contain too much salt, sugar and fat while denying the body essential nutrients. To make matters worse, many of the vitamins, minerals and other trace elements we need no longer exist in the same proportions in the vegetables coming on the market today. The soil has been depleted. The net result of this is that lots of people fill their bodies with inferior food leaving their bodies depleted and vulnerable to attack.
It has been shown that eating too much food is the root cause of much disease. This is especially so if it is the wrong kind of food. When people indulge in gluttony, not only do they grieve the Holy Spirit, who is the administrator of divine healing, but they allow toxins to accumulate in their body. The kidneys and liver cannot cope with all the toxins, so they build up. If people would fast regularly and eat well at other times, a lot of toxins would be eliminated and disease would be much rarer.
Moderate amounts of exercise is also important for health.
If people continue to violate these natural principles and grieve the Spirit of God, two things happen. One is that the body cannot cope with the toxins and something will eventually break down. The second thing is that the very act of grieving the Spirit of God in this way can be a barrier to divine healing. This barrier can be removed by a change of attitude, by repentance.
Even though God declared Himself as “the Lord who heals you” (Exodus 15:26), it is in the context of listening to and obeying the voice of the Lord. There were many food laws given at that time which had a lot of value in terms of promoting health. We are not under strict food laws today but the principle of wise eating and taking care of our bodies still applies. “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:30). The Holy Spirit bears witness to this both by His Word and by His anointing in our own lives. We are supposed to be in control of our own appetites.
Unbelief on the Part of the Minister
Some ministers of the gospel fail to prepare themselves for the serious responsibility of ministering to the sick and oppressed in the name of the Lord. This can easily come about simply by filling one’s schedule with project and appointments and cares of this life to the point where prayer gets squeezed out, and no time is taken to fast and meditate on the Word. Then, when a more challenging case of need is presented, such as a paralyzed person, not enough power is operating and the minister lacks the conviction that anything definite is going to happen.
Jesus rebuked his own disciples for their unbelief in the case of the epileptic boy (Matthew 17:14-22). He told them that that kind of demon only comes out through prayer and fasting. The disciples had obviously failed to do this, and so they were powerless when it came to the test. Their faith was deficient. Neither were they able to inspire faith in the heart of the boy’s father.
Some want to take the easy way out and say that in such cases it is just not God’s will for the person to be healed, at least at that time. The problem, however, is not with “God’s will”. Jesus showed it was God’s will by healing the epileptic boy on the spot. The problem is with our spiritual preparation. Having failed to pray and fast and consider as we should, we cannot operate in faith when people so desparately need us to bring the real compassion and ministry of Jesus to them. God said “the prayer of faith” shall heal the sick (James 5:14,15). Ministers who do not understand the prayer of faith (see Mark 11:24) are a barrier to the divine healing of many.
Some Need Deliverance Girst Before They Can Be Healed
Many cases of sickness are due to the presence of an evil spirit which is destroying part of a person’s bodily function. The classic example of this in the Scripture was the blind and mute man whom Jesus healed in (Matthew 12:22). Even the Pharisees understood that Jesus healed this man by casting out demons. However, they said Jesus did it by the ruler of demons.
Unless a problem is caused by an accident, it is very likely that some kind of spirit of infirmity is involved in a person’s physical affliction. You can command such spirits to leave. Just believe that they do when you give the command. Such spirits cannot continue to resist a word spoken in faith by a spirit-empowered person.
When the symptons of disease go after prayer and return some short time later, it is almost always the work of an evil spirit. Matthew 12:43-45 reveals that unclean spirits do seek to return. Some spirits are driven away by the touch of the anointing, and this causes relief. If the person so cured is not vigilant, does not seek God for the Holy Spirit, or does not learn how to use faith to rebuke the evil spirit, it is possible that the evil spirit will return and the person will be worse off than before – additional unbelief and confusion will be present. When faced with returning symptons, we should without hesitation command the evil spirit to leave. We may also confess the Word of God, for example, “Jesus took my sicknesses and carried my pains, and by His Stripes I am healed” (Isaiah 53:4,5). But the main thing is to command the spirit to leave.
Understanding deliverance ministry is actually an important key to receiving and ministering healing in Jesus’ name. A lot of the barriers to divine healing are constructed in one way or another by the work of evil spirits. For example, the mindsets which oppose divine healing are promoted and defended by evil spirits.
Some Are Holding Onto Sin and So Are Not Healed
“He who covereth His Sin shall not prosper, but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them, shall obtain mercy.” (Proverbs 28:13).
Since healing is a mercy, and since it is an expression of the Kingdom of God, it is unreasonable to for a person to wilfully hold onto sin and expect to be healed by God’s power. We ought to learn to say with David, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.”(Psalm 66:18)
When the Kingdom of God comes to our bodies, we are healed. When we resist the Kingdom of God, and resist the Holy Spirit, by impenitence, we may miss out on many blessings.
Any sin can be a barrier to God, but the chief enemies of divine healing are unforgiveness towards others, and unbelief concerning the Word of God.
General Church Lukewarmness
Lukewarmness occurs when people are not totally cold towards the things of God, but neither are they “hot”. They are not “on fire” about the things of God. Perhaps they mix a bit of the fire with a bit of coldness, and the result is lukewarmness.
The sin of lukewarmness is a barrier to healing. This sin is common today, and God finds it repulsive. So much so that He promises to spew the lukewarm out of His mouth. God said in Psalm 91, “Because He has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver Him”. People whose love is set on the world are grieving the Holy Spirit. They are not applying their hearts diligently to the Word of God, nor are they full of the Holy Spirit. Is it any wonder then, that they receive no divine healing?
If the church in general is lukewarm, it is to be expected that seekers after divine healing will have to face the discouragement of hearing faith destroying remarks from possibly well-meaing church members who think according to the natural mind and not according to the mind of the Spirit. Gentle words discouraging faith in God, such as exhortations just to accept the situation as it is, can come from people who are lukewarm and just trying to be nice people.
Jesus taught that we cannot receive God’s forgiveness while we hold onto unforgiveness against others for any reason (Mark 11:25; Matthew 6:14,15; Matthew 18:35). God Himself will hand us over to tormentors if we do not forgive our brethren from our heart, according to Matthew 18:35. Unforgiveness blocks the flow of God’s mercy, and it prevents the operation of real faith from the heart. That is why Jesus taught on the need to practice forgiveness just after giving us those wonderful words on faith and the prayer of faith.
Those who have wronged their neighbour in any way must ask his forgiveness. Many who were terribly afflicted were healed as soon as this was done.
No Purpose or Diligence to Seek Divine Healing
The faith that pleases God involves a belief that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. God will make it worth their while. This is not the same as “que sera sera” – whatever will be, will be. No, some things don’t happen because people don’t seek God for them. It is amazing how some Christians will spend tens of thousands of dollars to obtain healing through the medical profession, but do not consider it worthwhile investing some serious time pursuing divine healing by developing their faith. People who invest their time to develop their relationship with God end up spiritually richer and have the potential to receive physical and other benefits from the hand of God as well. But people who only invest their money in attempts by modern medicine to restore their health are denying God the opportunity of receiving the glory that would come to Him. And that money spent on medicine could be better spent telling those who never heard the gospel how they can get out of the devil’s kingdom into the Kingdom of God.
Some People Give Up When Yhey are Not Instantly Healed
Not every healing is instantaneous. When prayer is offered in faith, and hands are layed on, or the Word of God is received, we should consider it to be like a shot of very powerful divine medicine. The Holy Spirit goes in and begins a work. God has “sent His word” and it can be expected to “heal them” (Psalm 107:20). If the healing is not manifested 5 seconds or 5 minutes later we should not consider that the divine medicine is of no value. No, we wait patiently and confidently – regarding the matter as settled – because we trust God and His divine medicine to work in our bodies.
Sometimes, especially in the context of evangelistic outreaches, healings will manifest immediately as a sign to the people of the power of God. Not all healings manifest as miracles. Even if the ministry of Jesus, who had unlimited anointing as far as we know, there was a case of a blind man who, after ministry, could only see men as “trees walking”. Further ministry perfected the healing. Therefore, not all healings are instantaneous miracles.
The problem occurs when people, not realizing this, cast away their confidence if they observe that they feel the same immediately after prayer ministry. Perhaps the devil whispers that nothing happened. At such times, if our faith is based on the Word of God, if our confidence is not based on what we experience but on what God says, then our experience will come into line with the Word of God. Its important not to adopt a skeptical or doubting approach, not expecting healing if it does not manifest immediately. Instead we should begin to act our faith in some way, even if it is simply through expressing thanks to God for it.
Some Get Weak in Faith Because They Watch Their Symptoms
Symptoms point to a problem, but the Word of God points to a solution. When people consider the testimony of their symptoms as proof that nothing is happening, it shows that there really isn’t any kind of trust or confidence in what the Word of God has to say on the subject. God expects believers to believe, even in the face of negative circumstances and painful distractions.
God promises healing to the flesh of those who steadfastly look to the Word of God (Proverbs 4:20-22). It is impossible to be occupied with our pains and symptoms while being occupied with the Word of God. It has to be one or the other.
Some Don’t Act On Their Faith and So Don’t Receive
When ministering divine healing I generally instruct people to act on their faith before they have had a chance to doubt God. If people had back problems, I encourage them to move their back, or try to touch their toes. If people had knee pain I encourage them to lift their legs. Jesus told the blind man to go wash in the pool of Siloam. It was only after acting His faith that the man received healing.
Faith without corresponding actions is dead (James 2:17). Not all works are of faith, but real faith results in works – actions – which correspond to that faith. God wants us to think, speak and act faith. We need to attend to the Word of God until we do believe from our heart that God is doing it – then we act.
Others When Tested, Cast Away Their Confidence
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. What people say reveals how people believe. It is no good saying that you have faith and at the same time saying that you don’t think its God’s will for you to be healed. How can you be confident that the Lord will do a certain thing for you and at the same time be unsure as to God’s will? Remember that “faith is the substance of THINGS HOPED FOR” (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is not just a general trust that God will do whatever seems best to Him. Rather, God expects us to hear His Word, believe His promise, and keep believing it with our hearts, our mouths and our actions no matter what actually happens.
Sometimes tests come. A person who at first committed themselves to Jesus as healer and who began to believe, may encounter severe trials. Things may appear to get worse, and the pain may be terrible. Together with the pain, Satan will often test a person with doubts concerning the truths of divine healing and the principles of faith. God says, “Whatsoever you desire [including healing] when you pray, believe that you HAVE RECEIVED IT” and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). Faith says, “It is a done deal.” But when the senses scream with pain, the choice must be made to defer to God’s Word more than the evidence of what the body is saying.
This may seem ridiculous and foolish to a western mind trained in the scientific method. The scientific method says, “Let’s do an experiment and observe what happens. On the basis of what we observe, we will reject certain ideas which don’t fit and construct hypotheses and theories which fit”. God however operates in the spiritual realm, in which realities are established through Words before they are manifested to the five senses. And as “imitators of God”, we are called to learn to operate in the same principles. We serve a God who “calls things that are not as though they were” (Romans 4:17). Faith declares a thing before there is any outward evidence that it is true. The only evidence is a God given conviction concerning a thing. This conviction can come from the Word of God, or by a direct revelation of the Holy Spirit. In the case of divine healing, all we really need is a heart that can take hold of the Scriptural promises and claim them as our own.
If the Word of God is the reason for our confidence, then it is never right to throw away our confidence in it. Through faith and patience we inherit the promises (Hebrews 6:12).
Some, not understanding this, or yielding to the voice of doubt, become unsure of things. What is in the heart will be spoken, for “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks”. “Those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart”, said Jesus (Matthew 15:18). When people voice doubts, it is an evidence that the heart does not have the “full assurance of faith” concerning the thing desired. This is not to say a person does not have real faith in another area, such as the saving faith necessary for justification. However, the declarations of our mouth affect the spiritual atmosphere in which we live. We attract the kind of spirit according to which we speak. Just as speaking the Word of God reinforces a spirit of faith, so speaking words of doubt or natural reasoning reinforces a spirit of doubt.
Proverbs 6:2 says, “You are snared by the words of your mouth”. This principle applies to more than just going guarantor for someone else’s loan. Proverbs 18:21 says that “Death and life is in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit”. There is a power for good or for evil that is released through our words. That is why we must not give up confidence in the Lord’s promises during the tests, which do come to sincere believing people. Not every healing is a miracle and “trials of our faith” are permitted, with the purpose that our faith be purified and ultimately prove itself victorious.
Some Fail to Receive Because They Neglect to Receive the Holy Spirit
If a person knows that God wants them to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and yet neglects this awesome promise, they are not giving the Holy Spirit proper respect. Since the Holy Spirit is the administrator of God’s treasury of spiritual blessings purchased for us by the blood of Jesus, we do not do well if we treat Him with indifference.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Healing. He “gives life to our mortal bodies” (Romans 8:11). It is not saying here only that He gives life to our “dead bodies” after they have decomposed in the grace, at the resurrection. Rather, he gives life to our mortal bodies – our bodies which are still subject to death. The fullness of the Spirit is the condition for God’s perfect working.
Substituting the Belief in the Doctrine of Divine Healing for Personal Faith to Be Healed
This is a very subtle trap. Our minds can be convinced of the truth of a doctrine, while our hearts are unmoved. But it is with the heart that man believes (Romans 10:10). The heart could be bound with unforgiveness or idolatry, while the mind gives full assent to the doctrine. God wants the heart, as well as the mind. Repentance, as well as deep meditation on the Word of God can bring truth from the head to the heart.
Failure to Take the Written Promise of God as a Personal Promise When our hearts are simple, and ready to receive the Word of God, we will take its promises for us personally. To faith, the Word of God is the voice of God. God has magnified His Word above even His name (Psalm 138:2).
Refusal to Believe Prayer Has Been Heard Before Experiencing and Seeing the Answer
This is the tendency of many westerners educated in philosophical empiricism. What I mean by that, is that we think we can only know something is real after we have experienced it.
Mark 11:24 says, “Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them”. This means, we are to believe we receive the things at the time we pray for them. It is as if we receive a spiritual cheque (check) from God telling us “granted!”. The cheque is cashed at a later time but when we have REAL faith for it, we have a spiritual substance in our hearts, a guarantee that we got what we asked for. This is possible, even commanded. But we must have a forgiving heart in order to be able to operate in this kind of faith. A hardened heart finds it difficult, if not impossible, to believe the promises of God. God has not promises that our healing will begin to manifest before we believe that God has heard and we have received. Some are waiting for God to move first, before they believe God is working in their case. In this way, they never receive.
Once we have prayed, or received ministry in faith, or commanded disease to leave us, we should actually begin to thank God for the answer, even before it manifests. That is a proper expression of faith.
Basing Belief on Improvements Rather than on the Word of God
We may be encouraged by the results of the immediate application of the power of God to our bodies, but the best reason for faith should be what God said in His word. Faith that is primarily supported by results obtained to date is more susceptible to failure during times of testing.
Confusing Hope With Faith
Some people merely wish to be healed, but have no certainty in the matter. This is not faith. Some go further and say, “I KNOW I will be healed.” This positive expectation of good based on the Word of God is a good thing. It is known as hope, and it protects our minds. However, biblical hope alone is not the same as faith. Faith is more than a knowledge of a future event. Faith believes that it receives now. We need to be honest about this if we have biblical hope but no present assurance that “it is now done”. Continued exposure to the Word of God and the presence of Jesus will do us good. It is good to say, “God is healing me now”. Yes, legally you were healed at the cross, but God is working healing in you now. When your heart is fully convinced, you will think it, talk it, and act it. That is when things really happen.
Selfish Attitudes – Self-Pity, the Desire for Sympathy and Attention, Resentment Against God
Some like the attention they get being sick, and prefer being waited on hand and foot than being responsible for their own lives. Others pity themselves, and derive a strange comfort from this. Some pride themselves on being difficult cases that resist the prayers of faith of great healing evangelists. There can even be a desire to dishonor God because God has not performed healing for them, though few would admit it. Such attitudes are selfish and work against the desire to be healed. They kill hope, and faith cannot exist where even hope is not present.
A Works Mentality
While there are actions that correspond to faith, they have nothing to do with “earning merit” before God. If God says, “Rise up and walk” to a paralyzed man, the implication is that the paralyzed man must use his will and attempt to exert his muscles. Often as a person seeks to do what was previously difficult, the healing manifests immediately. Such actions correspond to faith, but they have nothing to do with earning merit before God, so as to somehow be “worthy” of healing.
Some people believe that by doing many good things they will make God more willing to bless them. It could be church attendance, Bible study, acts of mercy or service. These things are all good when done in faith and love, but when they are used as a way of earning merit, and hope is placed in one’s merit rather than in the undeserved mercy of God flowing from Calvary, then the foundation is wrong.
I have witnessed the worst of sinners divinely healed in meetings I have conducted, while others who had been in church for years, and trusted that they were better than others, received nothing.
Obviously, if a person doesn’t believe for healing, they are unlikely to get it. God can and does act sovereignly, or on the basis of the minister’s faith alone. But God expects more from a believer. A believer is expected to believe God’s promises as they apply to their temporal situation, and not only as they apply to the issue of eternal destiny.
A person may believe many marvelous truths of the Scripture, but if they have been educated to doubt concerning divine healing, unbelief will be a barrier. Careful reconsideration is warranted.
I have found that many non Christians will be healed in a context of personal or mass evangelism with or without their faith. God wants to confirm His Word and His goodness with signs following (Mark 16:17-20).
A Critical Spirit
Criticism can easily be a form of pride in which one assumes the position of judge. The Pharisees were notoriously fault finding with Jesus. They criticized Him for healing on the Sabbath. On one occasion, the power of the Lord was present to heal the Pharisees and teachers of the law, but they got nothing (see Luke 5:17 KJV or NKJV – Textus Receptus).
Some people become so critical of flamboyant healing evangelists that they miss what God wants to do for them. The truth of God has is true no matter who proclaims it. But some people in their pride seek to justify their positions of unbelief by finding fault with those who teach divine healing. Those who wish to “shoot the messenger” of divine healing should not be surprised if they do not receive healing from God in their own times of need.
Looking to Men more than to God
Others fall to the opposite extreme, virtually idolizing men whom God has been pleased to use in divine healing. They put all their faith in the man of God. There are times when God wants us to look to Him alone. People who come to a man of God more than they come to God may be severely disappointed. God can and often does work when people believe that God will work through a man of God, but many miss the blessings when they forget the God of the Man of God.
It may take some time for people to deal with barriers to divine healing. It is chiefly a matter of heart preparation and education. No one should feel under pressure to frantically make changes, but should respond to the Spirit’s call for change as the Spirit gently leads. Faith is a rest. It is actually very easy when the heart is prepared. “The preparation of the heart”, however, “does belong to man.” According to the book of Proverbs. Instead of striving to “have faith” or trying to “prove” that we have faith, we need to listen to the Word and to the Holy Spirit, and allow Jesus to lead us into a wonderful adventure of divine healing by His loving touch.
While it cannot be denied that the New Testament teaches that God did heal many people supernaturally in the first century, there are many in the church today who would be keen to downplay the present day relevance of such examples for those presently suffering with various forms of sickness and disease. The ministry of divine healing in the name of Jesus has been especially controversial in the last century, and has stirred up much religious feeling on both sides of the issue. At times this has been at least in part due to the unwise practices of certain well-known “faith-healers”. In some cases people have rejected divine healing because they could not accept some of the doctrines and practices of those who advocated it. Yet the Scripture does speak on this issue, and it is of great relevance to those who are sick and suffering, if perchance Jesus Christ might still be willing to demonstrate his compassion and power by healing them.
We must be willing to “test all things”, and “hold fast to that which is good”. Our standard of reference for discerning truth must be the Scriptures themselves, and not the pronouncements of popes, reformers, theologians, pastors, teachers or evangelists – although all of these may have something worthwhile to say at times.
God has more than a Religious Theory to help those who are sick and in pain.
Many times the church has sought to comfort the sick with religious notions instead of effectively ministering divine healing through faith in the name of Jesus. The seriously ill may be encouraged by such ideas as these: “You must be very holy for God to have chosen you to suffer in this way.” or “God is using this to teach you a lesson.” or “God is pleased when He looks down and sees you suffering so patiently”. All these notions and others like them may be quite comforting to the minds of the sufferers, but that does not mean that they are the pure truth of God at all!
In fact, such words may in fact lead to religious pride or to distorted views of the character of God. Sometimes sick Christians will hold on to such ideas with more tenacity than to any of the Scriptural encouragements to faith for divine healing. These religious notions can therefore become barriers to what God wants to do in producing expectation and faith for healing in the sufferer.
The Good News is that God is healing people today through faith in the name of Jesus. All kinds of miracles have taken place. We have Scriptural reasons to believe that God wants to heal us when we are sick. We can have deliverance today through the ministry of God’s Spirit to our mortal bodies.
Do we learn the will of God from experience or from the Word?
Some have confused notions concerning what is meant by the Will of God. It is believed by some that whatever happens is the Sovereign Will of God. For such believers, the question of God’s will in the matter of healing must be determined by experience. Prayer may be offered for healing, and if the sickness persists, it is concluded that the sickness must have been the will of God! If the person got better – be it through medical intervention or otherwise, it is concluded that it was God’s will to heal that person – but when the next case comes along we will just have to wait and see what God’s will is.
When people think like that, there is little room left for faith, since faith is the “substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1) or “faith is being sure of what we hope for, and it is certain of what we do not see.” When people are unsure whether what they hope for is God’s will, they cannot be sure that it will come. This is not faith. In fact it is merely natural hope mixed with uncertainty.
Some point to examples of Christians, even great Christians, who were sick and died sick. Some even believed they would be healed. This does not prove anything one way or the other. We are not called to judge the spirituality of such Christians. Nor should we use their example to determine what the Scriptural teaching is. We would do better to judge experiences by the Word of God, than to judge the Word of God by experiences.
We take a great step forward when we realize two things:
(1) That God tells us what His will for us is in His Word. It is revealed through His promises, His declarations, and through the life and ministry of His Son Jesus Christ.
(2) The will of God is not always done in our life or in our world.
Concerning the latter point, consider the Scripture “[The Lord] … is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9). We know that not all come to repentance – even though God would like them too. Therefore God’s will is not done in their lives.
There is another interesting verse in this regard in Luke 7:30. Here the Word of God states, “But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him [John].” The plain meaning is that it is possible for men to reject the will of God for themselves. This means that what happens is not always the will of God. This means that just because a person was not healed does not automatically mean that it was not God’s will to heal them.
What God’s will is, is clearly revealed through the Scriptures. It can be seen through the ministry of Jesus to the sick, for Jesus perfectly revealed the will of God on the earth. It is seen in the many promises concerning divine healing in both the Old and New Testaments. We must remember that “all the promises of God in Him [Christ] are Yes, and in Him, Amen, to the glory of God through us.” (2 Cor. 1:20). Whatever God’s Word has promised is a clear indication of God’s will – for it is God’s will to keep His promises. And we will consider many of those great and precious promises concerning divine healing in the sections below.
All of this is not a denial of God’s Sovereignty and rulership of the universe. It just shows how serious human choices are. God respects our ability to choose and will faithfully administrate the outcome of those choices – be it through judgements or blessings. Nothing takes God by surprise – and yet there are many choices people make and things people do that were not desired by our loving Father.
God did heal supernaturally. Does God still do it?
Yes! Today more and more people are thanking God for the healing they received from God, which was accomplished by a direct action of the Spirit of God in their bodies. All the time cases are reported of deaf ears opening, cripples walking, internal organs being healed, backs straightening and so on. Jesus Christ is still doing it!
The Scripture provides many models of Christ’s healing work. All these principles are relevant to us in building up our faith in these areas. We should not allow the traditions of men to neutralise the impact of these Scriptures to us.
How can one know if the source of supernatural healing is Divine or satanic?
Satanic healings take the attention away from Jesus Christ as the healer and are coming through people who promote unscriptural and/or occultic doctrines. They come without any reference to the cross of Christ and they lead people away from the true knowledge of God rather than to the foot of the cross. Satanic healings transfer the problem from the body to the soul of man. Those who have been to occultic healers often become mentally disturbed and confused.
This should not lead us to be fearful of the godly ministry of divine healing, however. We should bear in mind the teaching of Jesus in Mathew’s gospel.
“Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” Matthew 7:9-11
We have nothing to fear of the ministry of humble, Christ exalting men who teach the gospel of Jesus Christ the Son of God, call people to true repentance and faith in Him and give all the glory to God for the miracles and changed lives that come as a result.
What Are Some of The Scriptures Indicating Divine Healing is God’s Will?
My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ears to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:20-22
The Word of God has a key role in divine healing (see also Ps. 107:20). It can be health to all our flesh – leaving no room for sickness and disease in our flesh. It is difficult to spiritualise this passage and say that it is really talking about healing for our spirits or souls – since it specifically mentions our flesh – with no ifs or buts about it.
If you are sick you need to get your ears and your eyes onto the Word of God itself and off negative reports, unbelieving theologies, religious traditions and the pain itself. For God’s Word itself can become medicine to your flesh if you take that medicine faithfully according to prescription. God is Almighty but also a God of integrity, and sooner or later He will back up His own words when they are mixed with faith.
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save [heal] the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. James 5:14-15
This is a New Testament instruction that many sick Christians do not put into practice. The implication here is that the elders of the church should be willing to come to the bed of the sufferer, and able to pray the prayer of faith for healing. The word for “saved” in Greek is “sozo” and is used many times for “healed” as well as “saved” in the New Testament. This is no accident, because healing is really just an expression of God’s salvation for the body.
Here we have two very unambiguous promises concerning divine healing. Together with other promises and statements made in the Word of God, little room is left for doubt and unbelief at least concerning what the Bible teaches is God’s promise and intention in these matters.
And these signs will follow those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons … they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. Mark 16:17-18
Although this promise is primarily valid for those engaged in evangelism (Mark 16:15), the truth remains that many times God will use the laying on of hands to impart the power of the Holy Spirit into a person’s body so that sickness is dissolved. Often this happens in conjunction with “the gifts of healings” (1 Cor. 12:9) – one of the manifestations of the Spirit given to build up the body of Christ.

In the beginning of 1992, I was afflicted with a condition the doctors could not identify. I was suffering everyday with pain and an unidentified bronchial infection. The pain was so intense that I cannot accurately begin to describe the depth of what I was suffering with. I was so desperate for relief that I was consuming a whole box of over-the-counter cough medication every 24 hours just to take the edge off slightly. I eventually was given every antibiotic the doctors could offer but there was none that would bring an end to this horrible condition. During this terrible time of my life, and through much frustration and crying out to the Lord for healing, the Lord walked me through a step-by-step cure for my situation and what would become the foundation of this blog.
I listened intently as He walked me through each block of Scripture showing me where I had been missing it. By implementing this prescription for victory, I was completely healed within just four days. In fact, I still have the last bottle of antibiotics as a testimony and reminder of what was impossibility with man, became a reality through the Word of God!
Over the years the Lord has healed me from diabetes, massive heel spurs, chronic bleeding hemorrhoids, and a torn meniscus after a car accident. He has also healed me of emotional wounds as well as a spirit of depression that would lead me to consider suicide many times over my life.
I have also been used of the Lord to bring healing to the sick. Two young girls were delivered of massive brain tumors. Several people were delivered from stomach cancer, leukemia, depression, and drug addictions.
In 2005 I was asked to come to the local hospital in my city to pray for a young woman who attempted suicide by ingesting sleeping pills. By the time I arrived the doctors had declared her brain dead and were attempting to get the family to sign papers to harvest her organs. The Lord lead me to say, “When I lay my hands on you your eyes will open and you will begin to breathe on your own. Jesus of Nazareth heals you.” I just barely touched her head and her eyes snapped wide open. She began to breathe on her own and they had to remove her from the respirator.
Three years later I ministered to a man that had slipped into a diabetic coma and was clinically dead; as I prayed and commanded life into his body in the name of Jesus the monitors he was attached to began to come alive with activity. The man’s vitals were all returning strongly. As I continued to speak life into him I heard him wake and proclaim, “Praise God! I felt that! Yes Lord! I felt that! Within one hour he was out of ICU and back into a regular room. The next day he was released.
I want to clarify that I am not opposed to doctors. I believe they are a gift of God to us, being part of the Grace of God that has been given to man. Every doctor I’ve talked with admits they are limited in their knowledge and understanding regarding medical science. However, as believer’s, we do not have to be limited, as the Grace and Victory of God is unlimited. While it may be a truth that there is no natural cure for your situation, you need to realize there is a higher Truth – The Word of God. Please, do not place a time constraint on your healing, just stay with it until you get the victory, knowing all along that it belongs to you. I’ve seen some instant miracles and some that were gradual healings. Generally, healing is a gradual process. I sincerely hope and pray that this information will be as much a blessing to you as it was to me.
First Things First!
We must first of all recognize that our healing has already been bought and paid for by the Lord Jesus Christ. It is part of the salvation package that we receive when we are born-again. As you read this well-known passage in Isaiah 53, take special note that the literal Hebrew translation for the word “grief” is actually “sicknesses” and the literal Hebrew translation for the word “sorrows” is actually pains.
Let’s take a look at Isaiah 53:4-5
|4 Surely He has borne our griefs
(Sicknesses) and carried our
sorrows; (Pains) yet we esteemed
Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our
transgressions, He was bruised
for our iniquities; The chastisement
for our peace was upon Him,
and by His stripes we are healed.
Now take a look at the end of verse 12:
|12 Therefore I will divide Him a
portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors,
and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
In this wonderful chapter foretelling the Redemptive work of Jesus Christ, we see clearly that the same action of Jesus bearing and removing away our sin in verse 12, by use of the Hebrew word “NASA,” also included by the same action, and by use of the same word, that He also bore and removed away our sickness and disease. As you can see, Jesus not only paid the price for the removal or forgiveness of sin, which we are no longer bound by, but also for the healing of our bodies, both mental and physical. There are some who contend that Isaiah 53:4 is speaking of spiritual healing and not physical. I like to remind them that when we were born-again we were not spiritually healed, but our spirit was re-created and therefore we have become a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” That’s why this next Scripture is so exciting!
Matthew confirms our physical healing as our right in Matthew 8:16-17 as he makes reference to Isaiah 53:4
|16 When evening had come, they
brought to Him many who were
demon-possessed. And He cast
out the spirits with a word, and
healed all who were sick,17 that it might be fulfilled which
was spoken by Isaiah the prophet,
saying: “He Himself took our infirmities
and bore our sicknesses.”
The early church clearly understood what Jesus came to do for us on the cross, fulfilling Isaiah’s prophecy. Peter writes regarding this fact as past tense saying: “By whose stripes you were healed” – 1 Peter 2:24. Know this: Jesus Christ went to the cross spirit, soul and body to purchase our wholeness, spirit, soul and body!
When I was dealing with severe illness, there was one question that I kept bringing up to the Lord: “When are you going to heal me?” On one particular day I was so frustrated and tired of this on-going battle, that I once again blurted out that same question, and I might add my attitude was not too good either, but like a shot the Lord replied with a question of His own: “When are YOU going to believe that I already did!” His response really caught my attention. I was the one holding up my healing, not Him! What I discovered was that I had been looking for a future work of His Grace, and what I actually needed to do was take hold of what had already been provided, which was the finished work of Grace at Calvary. You see, we must look back to get ahead! Real faith takes hold of what has already been revealed and acts upon it. Let’s quit looking for a “future” work of healing and take hold of what has already been given to us!
Romans 10:6-8 reveals this important fact.
|6 But the righteousness of faith speaks
in this way, “Do not say in your heart,
‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ”
(that is, to bring Christ down from above)7 or, ” ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ”
(that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).8 But what does it say? “The word is near
you, in your mouth and in your heart”
(that is, the word of faith which we preach):
The above Scripture confirms what I just said and is telling us to stop looking for another work of Grace. Jesus already came to Earth, paid the price and the solution is right there with you now!!! Believe it in your heart, and let your affirming words speak it out of your mouth. To say words like, “I believe the Lord is going to heal me someday.” Is, according to this scripture, the same as saying, “I need the Lord to come down from heaven and to be beaten and whipped and be led to the cross to be crucified again and to be raised up for my present ailment.” We would not consciously say such a thing, but that is what we are doing when we neglect the finished work of Calvary and look to a future work. We need to understand that the work of the cross was good enough for any and all of our needs, as the Lord said to Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My Grace is sufficient for you!” If you do a study on grace, you will find that His grace is His empowerment which has been given to us. In essence the Lord was saying to Paul, “All that I have and all that I am has already been given to you – stand on it Paul, put the Word to work!!!” That’s exactly what we need to do as well.
Continuing in Romans chapter 10, Paul tells us that faith for healing must be active in two places, both in our mouth and in our heart. According to the Scripture, if we are believing only without our words declaring our belief, we are operating at a 50% deficit in regards to our faith. Psalm 107:2 reminds us of this by saying: “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.” That’s us!!! Also, remember in the Book of James it warns us against having our heart and mouth divided, speaking and believing two different things – it calls that kind of person double-minded and warns us not to expect a thing if we operate in that realm – James 1:6-8.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Let’s take a look at Romans 10:9-13
|9 that if you confess with your
mouth the Lord Jesus and believe
in your heart that God has raised Him
from the dead, you will be saved.10 For with the heart one believes
unto righteousness,and with the mouth
confession; is made unto salvation.11 For the Scripture says,
“Whoever believes on Him will not
be put to shame.”12 For there is no distinction
between Jew and Greek, for the same
Lord over all is rich to all who call
13 For “whoever calls on the name of
In the above Scripture, take special note of the word “Saved” and “Salvation” in the above block of Scripture. It is the word “sozo” in the Greek language which has the meaning of: to save, that is, to deliver or protect, to heal, preserve, be (make) whole. Jesus used this very word every time He healed someone saying: “Your faith has made you whole.” Or “be made whole.” Whenever we read this word in the Bible we need to read it as saved/healed! It has the combined meaning just as Isaiah spoke of it in chapter 53. You cannot separate healing out of Redemption, for they are one in the same. If you are saved, then you have the right to health, they are synonymous with one another.
Let’s take a look at some further proof that health and healing belong to us as a free gift of grace through the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ at Calvary.
Galatians 3:13-14 is Scripture that is so a very important!
|13 Christ has redeemed us from the
curse of the law, having become a curse
for us (for it is written, “Cursed is
everyone who hangs on a tree”),14 that the blessing of Abraham might
come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus,
that we might receive the promise of the
Spirit through faith.
The word “redeemed” in this verse, has the thought of being “brought out,” or purchased out from underneath the weight of the oppression of the curse of the law. This is wonderful news for us because we can clearly see the will of God toward us in verse 14, and with this new understanding we could read it this way: “that we, being free from the curse would enjoy the blessings which is the promise of the Spirit of God through faith!” Isn’t that good? Are you ready, things are about to get even more exciting!
Do you know what the curse of the law is? Or where it’s found in the Bible? You can not appreciate the full impact of this truth that’s laid out in the above Scriptures until you do. The curse of the law is found in Deuteronomy chapter 28. The first 14 verses of the chapter describe the blessings that will come upon a believer’s life through obedience to the Lord. Verses 15 through 68 describe the curse, or the problems and hardships that one can expect who, through disobedience, walks outside of the covenant relationship with the Lord. Even though this section of Scripture is terrible indeed, you should read it with a glad heart and rejoice that you’ve been redeemed from the curse – yes, hallelujah – it’s a real reason to celebrate and praise the Lord! But, there is one section here that is of particular importance to us regarding health. Get ready to shout!
We need to pay close attention to Deuteronomy 28:58-61
|58 “If you do not carefully observe all
the words of this law that are written in
this book, that you may fear this glorious
and awesome name,
THE LORD YOUR GOD,59 then the LORD will bring upon you
and your descendants extraordinary plagues
–great and prolonged plagues–
and serious and prolonged sicknesses.60 Moreover He will bring back on you all
the diseases of Egypt, of which you were
afraid, and they shall cling to you.61 Also every sickness and every plague,
which is not written in this book of the law,
will the LORD bring upon you until you are
Did you see it? Every sickness and every disease, even those NOT written in this Book of the Law! This includes the sickness and disease YOU are dealing with right now and is inclusive of every sickness and every disease that was, is, or can ever be!!!
Now let’s tie it all together. Since we know that the curse includes all sickness and all disease that’s in the world, we can clearly see that according to Galatians 3:13, we have been redeemed or bought out from underneath the lordship of the curse of the law. Therefore, according to these Scriptures, you can clearly see that sickness and disease have no legal right to live within our bodies. According to the Word of God it’s illegal – pure and simple, because we have been redeemed!!! It’s our birth-right as born-again children of God to be free of sickness and disease. Praise the Lord! Take a moment and really ponder, and take to heart this crucial life-giving fact.
Go ahead and get happy about the blessing that is yours and get mad at the devil for trying to pull one over on you, trying to get you to accept what doesn’t belong to you. He’s a liar! Remember this: Faith can only act where the will of God is known. You can’t claim a benefit that you don’t know anything about. But now you know! So put your foot down on the devil and command him to leave and take all of his sickness and disease with him, it doesn’t belong to you!!! As it says in John 8:32: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” You’re free! You’ve been made free of sickness and disease!!!
It’s vitally important for us to realize that we have an active role to play in appropriating our blessings. You see, there’s an enemy out there that is continually working against us. However, we need to understand that because we have become born-again, we have been given authority over the devil and all his works.
In Luke 10:19-20 there’s a great truth describing our covenant right: Jesus said…
|19 Behold, I give you the authority
to trample on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy,
and nothing shall by any means hurt you.20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
Did you know that we have been given the right to use His authority over the enemy? And as if Verse 19 didn’t say it clear enough, Jesus clarifies it even further in Verse 20 when He said – the spirits are subject to you!!! What Jesus was really saying in Verse 20; knowing He was about to pay the price for redemption was: “don’t just rejoice in this one area of the blessing that I’ve made available to you, that the spirits are subject to you – there’s more, much more and it is yours BECAUSE you’re a child of God having been born-again and your names are written in heaven – you are in My family now with all of its rights and privileges, and everything that I’ve made available to you stems from this. This is what you should be rejoicing about”
Child of God, you can do this! You have the right, given by the Lord Jesus Himself. Go ahead and take your authority over the devil by commanding him to get out of your life and out of all that concerns you. Command sickness and disease to go! Rebuke it in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Set your will against it, and refuse to accept it on the basis of the Word of God and the shed Blood at Calvary – it doesn’t belong to you. You are a Blood bought child of God, so exercise your right!
Did you know that your words are powerful and carry great impact and that your faith is much stronger than you think or are aware of? Your words are containers that release the blessing of God into your life.
Look what else Jesus said in Mark 11:22-23
|22 So Jesus answered and said to them,
“Have faith in God.23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says.
A mountain is an obstacle in life that is blocking your progress or realized blessing! Notice, Jesus did not say to talk to God about your mountain – He said YOU do something about it – use the faith He has given to you and command it to be removed according to the Word of God. That’s right – You do it!!! Pick up the Sword of the Spirit, which is the spoken Word of God, and begin to slash your way to victory, proclaiming the Word of God regarding your healing.
Often, when we are sick or dealing with disease, we “hear” the sickness or symptoms speak negativity or doubt to our minds. Thoughts come to us telling us we are not ever going to get well, or “how will you ever get about your business, you’re in such bad shape.” The symptoms quite possibly will attempt convince us to entertain thoughts of death, suicide or thoughts of total defeat because of the pain or hopelessness. Do not listen to that, it will defeat you! Instead, get back to the Word and activate your faith.
Take a look at Isaiah 54:17 for a word from the Lord regarding this.
|17 No weapon formed against you
shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.
Did you notice the “You” in this Scripture? Here again, the Lord is telling you to do something about this, He’s telling you to take action against it and for you to condemn it.
After reading all that I’ve presented so far, you must realize by now that according to the Word of the Lord, sickness is judging you falsely. Remember, it’s illegal for it to be in your body. It has no right to be there. Rise up in faith and condemn those lying negative thoughts with the truth of the Word of God. Refuse to accept that negativity! Instead, replace those negative thoughts by meditating on the promises of health and healing from the Word. Saturate your mind with the truth which is your inheritance, your birthright – The Word of God! Begin to see yourself as the Word says – healed, whole and well! Begin to speak out what the Word says about you:“According to the Word of God – I’m healed by the stripes placed upon Jesus’ back. Healing is mine and I have it now no matter what I see, or how I feel, it’s a gift of His grace, it’s my position in Him – I am the healed, I am not the sick – thank you Lord!” I strongly suggest that you read through our healing scripture chapter and take hold of the scriptures that stand out to you and put your name in them and make them personal speaking them out over yourself a couple of times per day until you are convinced.
We do not deny that sickness or disease is present – however, we are denying it the right to stay in our bodies, by receiving the truth of what was purchased for us at Calvary – which is our covenant blessing!
When you finally come to the place when you are ready to make up your mind to receive your healing by faith, write down that date and settle it before the Lord in prayer. Not the date you want to see the manifestation take place in your flesh, but the day that you are going to put your faith to work to believe that He has already provided your healing. From that day forward you will no longer ask the Lord for healing, instead you will now thank Him and praise Him for it. This is where the battle begins as the enemy will attempt to talk you out of it in the days to come, trying to convince you that it didn’t work or it’s not for you. You may even hear him say, “oh sure, it worked for Marcos DeSouza, but your different, you’re not like him, it won’t work the same for you.” Don’t you believe that lie, the Bible tells us over and over that God shows no favoritism – He treats all His children the same – He is an equal opportunity God! You must stand strong in faith and must not give in. When the enemy says you are not going to get healed, you can now state with complete confidence and even have a little fun with it by saying, “Yes, your right devil, I’m not going to receive my healing, because on this date devil, I’ve already received my healing by faith – you’re just too late! It’s mine now!!!”
In Mark chapter 4 there is a block of Scripture that many of us are familiar with, it’s the parable of the sower. As Jesus was explaining this parable of the sower to His disciples, He revealed in verse 15 that when the Word of God is sown into a person’s life, the devil comes immediately with the intent to steal the Word. Obviously the devil knows how powerful and fruitful the Word of God can be!
Mark 4:15 reads:
|15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown.
When they hear, Satan comes
immediately and takes away the
word that was sown in their hearts.
We know that in the first part of John 10:10, Jesus said that the devil (the thief) comes to steal and to kill and to destroy. This is his goal and focus. Notice that he is very wise in his tactics against us. He knows that if we continue to meditate or focus on the Word of God, it will bring forth fruit, through faith, just as it states in Romans 10:17 when it says that faith comes through hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
The devil knows this is a factual truth, that when the Word is received, it will always produce. So, he attempts to bring something other than the Word for us to focus on, which is his word of doubt, confusion and uncertainty. He attempts to get our focus onto our circumstances instead of the promises of the Word. The Lord told me that we need to use the devil’s tactics against him, and walk in at least the same amount of wisdom he uses against us. When we begin to hear that thought of doubt, or begin to focus in on our problem, we need to immediately steal that lying thought and not allow it to take root and immediately replace it with the truth of the Word of God. This is why you need to have your healing Scriptures at the ready.
Use those thoughts of doubt and wondering as a “cue” to speak the Word concerning the promises of health; by doing that, you will steal or stop the devil’s word from taking root. Don’t hesitate – do it immediately and as often as you need to throughout the day. It’s powerful and it works! After all, the enemy has been using this on humanity since the beginning and unfortunately, has been quite successful. It’s time for us to rise up and turn the tide! Boldly proclaim that you are a recipient of God’s grace and of the promise of health. Rebuke that lying devil and rebuke those circumstances and claim your promise of health. Decree out loud “I am healed because the Word says so! I believe it and it’s mine now!”
When the Lord spoke this truth to me, I literally did this about 30 times the first day, proclaiming who I am in Christ and my covenant rights. I did it when I was driving, when I was in the shower, when I was at work, yes, even when I was in bed. Each time I caught my mind beginning to wonder why I wasn’t healed, or reminding me of how great the pain was – I caught myself and began to proclaim what the Word says regarding my healing and blessing. I stole the devil’s negative, doubting seeds and replaced them immediately with the truth of the Word of the Living God, over and over again. As the days passed by, I also noticed that I didn’t have to do this as much as the previous day – the symptoms were not as great – progress was taking place.
Let’s take a look at how the Lord sees us and get a firm understanding of our position, or right standing, in Christ. Many in the Body of Christ see themselves as “weak worms of the dust,” and, because of that mentality, they are an easy target for the enemy. Once you get a hold of where you stand in Christ, your life will take on a whole new brightness of hope. You won’t have to try and get your faith up, faith will just be!
Let’s start in Ephesians 2:4-6
|4 But God, who is rich in mercy,
because of His great love with which He loved us,5 even when we were dead in
trespasses, made us alive together
with Christ (by grace you have
been saved),6 and raised us up together, and made
us sit together in the heavenly places
in Christ Jesus,
Did you see that? When we were born-again we were positioned, raised you up and made you to sit together with Jesus. The Father sees us in Christ, in His family, and we have been given the position, or right of “sonship.” As it states in Romans 8:17: “we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ.” That means all that He has, has already been given to us! Now look at the end of the preceding chapter in Ephesians. Get ready, this is very exciting!
|19 and what is the exceeding greatness
of His power toward us who believe,
according to the working of His mighty
power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him
at His right hand in the heavenly places,21 far above all principality and power
and might and dominion, and every
name that is named, not only in this age
but also in that which is to come.22 And He put all things under His feet,
and gave Him to be head over all things
to the church,
23 which is His body, the fullness of Him
This starts out talking about Jesus’ work of redemption and the resurrection, or what we call the New Birth. But remember in Ephesians 2:6 it said we are raised up and seated with Jesus and here in verse 20 it is speaking of this very seat. I like to call this the “Seat of Authority” because of what it says next. Verse 21 tells us He is far above, not just above, but FAR above all principality and power and might and dominion (everything and every power the devil has) and also far above every name that can be named! Cancer is a name, diabetes is a name, arthritis is a name, pain is a name, whatever your condition is, it has a name! And according to Ephesians 2:6, we’ve been raised up with Jesus Christ above it all! Do you see it? Because we are in Christ, we are positioned and seated in that very Seat of Authority with Jesus. That’s the authority we have now, here on the Earth, right where we are! Stay with me on this. This is going to transform the way you see yourself from now on.
Now look at verse 22, “He put all things under His feet.” Now let me ask you a very simple question: Where are the feet? They are on the very lowest part of the Body, of course. The rest of this chapter tells us that the Body is the Church – hey, that’s us! We are the Body of Christ and if they are under His feet then they are all under our feet. Praise the Lord! Do you see that we have been given a very great inheritance indeed! Begin to exercise your authority in Christ by boldly proclaiming what rightly belongs to you by faith. Don’t allow the devil to steal from you any longer. Get fed up and put your foot down on the situation and receive by faith the blessings that are yours!
Look at this exciting section of Scripture in 1 John 5:14-15
|14 Now this is the confidence that
we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we
have the petitions that we have asked
God’s Word is His will. Take it, it’s yours!!!
You may want to print out the Scriptures below and go over them a couple of times a day if you are in need of healing. Allow the Holy Spirit to build your faith as you read these Words of Life. You may want to highlight, copy and paste the scriptures into your word processor before printing so you can get the page breaks correct, that way the scriptures will not be broken up from page to page.
Speak them out over yourself in the first person tense, laying claim to them by faith, with the understanding that they are your inheritance as a child of God, if you’ve been born-again.
The Bible tells us in Romans 10:17 that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Be sure and read through the other articles on this Blog when you get a chance . These are short teachings that will build your faith for healing and all areas of life. We need to learn the laws of faith to learn how to receive from the Word.
Now Fasten Your Seatbelt And
Expect A Move Of God Suddenly!
Acts 5:16 “Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.”
NOTE – Even after Jesus had been crucified, raised back to life again and ascended into heaven, we see the very same work that Jesus performed, while on the earth, still taking place through the hands of His disciples, and with the very same intensity – all being healed. And why not? Hebrews 13:8 tells us that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever!“
Hebrews 7:25 “Because Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant (verse 22 which we have entered into), “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Take a look at this scripture in the Amplified Version for a great rendering of the Greek word for “Uttermost”: “Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them.”
NOTE – Wow! Talk about certainty and the concreteness of absolute Truth!!! If we will come to the understanding of what is being declared here in the Word, all doubt and uncertainly just has to flee and faith will just be!!! I don’t know about you, but I get real happy just knowing that Jesus is interceding for me! That alone gives me great hope, because you can be assured Jesus always gets His prayers answered! If you’re going to be on a prayer list, this is definitely the “A” list!!! Also, it’s important to remember that the word “save” in the Greek is the word “sozo” which literally means to heal, preserve, save, do well, be (or make) whole. It means deliverance in the present as well as in the future or in eternity. Sozo also describes its work both physically as well as spiritually. Jesus used this word to denote healing of the body as well as forgiveness of sins. Whenever you come across the word save, saved or salvation, remember to always translate it as “save – heal” when you come across it in the Word.
Acts 13:38-39 “Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man [Jesus] is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified [declared righteous] from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.”
NOTE – I love this. From now on you need to train yourself to translate the word “justified” as “declared righteous.“ That is the literal Greek translation. This will really help you when you read the book of Romans. You can remember it with this phonetic, literal breakdown: just-if-i’d never sinned! That’s the true meaning of biblical righteousness – to be in right standing with God.. 2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us plainly that as born-again believer’s we have become the righteousness of God in Christ. Because of the forgiveness of sins, through His shed blood, we are redeemed and declared righteous from ALL THINGS which we could not be declared righteous, apart from His redemptive work. This is our position in Christ and it’s more than just spiritual. The effects of this right-standing or righteousness pertain to the soul, the body and our life here on this earth.
Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal (Natural, Earthly) bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
NOTE – Take a close look at this Scripture. This is talking about your body that you have now, not the one you’re going to receive one day in heaven! Notice that the will of the Lord IS to impart His resurrection life into our natural, earthly body as we place our faith in His finished work of the cross. Begin to praise Him for this promise as you receive this as your very own.
2 Corinthians 4:10-11 “Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus (which was for our victory), that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.” – Bodily Health!!!
Matthew 6:9-10 “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven.”
NOTE – Jesus always prays the will of God, and He prays that the will of God be done here on the earth just as it is in heaven. People in heaven are not sick, so we can clearly see it is God’s will that we also be free from sickness and disease. Father does not have one will for those in heaven and another for those on earth.
Deuteronomy 11:21 (If a believer honors God and lives according to the Word, He says…) “That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.”
NOTE – God’s plan is that His children begin to experience the inheritance of the heavenly life while here on the earth. We’re already His children, and we have been given special rights. Learning to walk in the Word of God, brings the benefits of the Word of God into a living, functioning reality.
Deuteronomy 7:15 “And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you.”
NOTE – If this was a promise to God’s covenant people under the Old Covenant, how much more does this benefit of health pertain to us today; as we are under the New Covenant which is based upon the precious Blood of Jesus Christ!
Romans 8:32 “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”
NOTE – Surely this includes healing!!!
Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name . . . they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
NOTE – Find someone who believes God’s Word regarding healing and have them lay hands on you and pray for you in faith, based upon the promises of God. James 5:16 says “that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.”
NOTE – The word “wait” in this verse implies a positive action of hope, based on knowing that the Word of God is a true fact and that it will soon come to pass – waiting with earnest expectation!
Psalm 34:19 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.”
Jeremiah 30:17 “For I will restore health unto you, and I will heal you of your wounds, saith the Lord.”
Isaiah 53:4-5 “Surely He hath borne our griefs (Hebrew: sicknesses) and carried our sorrows (Hebrew: pains) yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and by His stripes we are healed.”
NOTE – The last part of this verse,“by His stripes we are healed,” is not talking about spiritual healing, as some have taught, but definite physical healing. God does not “heal” a human spirit, he recreates it. He does however, heal our bodies and minds. This clearly shows that your healing was paid for at the cross!
Jeremiah 33:6 “Behold, I will bring you health and cure, and I will cure you, and will reveal unto you the abundance of peace and truth.”
Matthew 18:19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on Earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”
NOTE – The prayer of agreement is powerful – have someone agree with you for your healing!
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Surely this includes healing!
Isaiah 58:8 “Thy light shall break forth as the morning, and thy health shall spring forth speedily; and thy righteousness shall go before thee: the glory of the Lord shall be thy rear guard.”
Psalm 41:3 (Amplified Version) “The Lord will sustain, refresh, and strengthen him on his bed of languishing; all his bed You [O Lord] will turn, change, and transform in his illness.”
NOTE – I love how the Amplified Bible brings out the fullness of meaning in the original language. The phrase “all his bed” in the Hebrew, has the meaning of; all that he is afflicted with, or all of his condition that he is lying with” It is always His will to turn, change and transform our mourning into dancing – Psalm 30:11
1 Thessalonians 5:23 “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly [completely]; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless [sound, complete and intact] unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
NOTE – It is very clear in this passage that wholeness, wellness, and health is for the complete make-up of man, spiritual, mental, and physical.
1 Peter 2:24 “Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness– by whose stripes you were healed.”
NOTE – Past tense “You were healed”. Jesus paid it all for your total deliverance – spirit, soul and body!
Psalm 103:2-3 “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who heals all thy diseases”
NOTE – Notice it doesn’t say some, it says all! It also states that healing is one of the benefits that belongs to the believer along with the benefit of having our sin forgiven.
3 John 2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
Jeremiah 17:14 “Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.”
NOTE – Once a person finally understands that healing is a part of the finished work of grace along with salvation, paid for at the same time with the same healing Blood, then you can get excited about this verse saying; “You did it Lord for me! Then according to this verse I will agree and say, I will have healing just as I have salvation, it’s mine NOW!”
James 5:14-15 “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”
1 Thessalonians 5:8-10 “But let us who are of the day [in Christ] be sober [Word minided], putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath [the curse], but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him [share in His life].”
NOTE – While this block of Scripture is talking about end times and the rapture of the Church, it is important not to miss the heart of God toward us the Church, which is constant and never changing. The curse does not belong to us, we were not appointed to it, we are appointed to the blessing which is the life of Christ given to us. The Word salvation always implies healing, mending, health as well as deliverance. One should always translate the word salvation as saved-healed! Don’t miss this great truth, the Lord wants you to obtain healing, both now and in the glorious completeness of it when we go to be with Him.
Use Your Authority and Resist Fear!
John 10:10 “The thief (satan) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
NOTE – Here we see the desired will of the Lord for every believer – that we experience abundant life. According to this verse He came for this very purpose. We also see clearly that it is not God who afflicts us. The word here for life is the Greek word “zoe.” One highly respected commentator describes the true meaning of the word life in this verse as: “life being the highest and best of which Christ is.” In light of that meaning, you can easily see the wonderful gift of life the Lord wants for each of us. Sickness and disease are truly not in His plan for us, simply because He has none to give.
Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give unto you power (authority) to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
NOTE – This is an exciting verse as Jesus said He has given us authoritative power over ALL, not some of the enemy! Command Satan to take his hands off of you. Command sickness and disease to leave you now in the Name of Jesus.
Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment YOU shall condemn. This is the heritage (birthright) of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the LORD.”
NOTE – Sickness is judging you falsely, it’s your birthright to live in health. You condemn it, with the Word of God, and command it to leave your body.
Psalm 102:19-20 “ For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary, from heaven did the Lord behold the earth, to hear the sighing and groaning of the prisoner, to loose those who are appointed to death.”
NOTE – If you are born-again, then YOU are not appointed to death but unto life in Christ Jesus. The Word tells us that He who the son sets free is free indeed!!! Take hold of and insist upon your covenant right of freedom today in Jesus Name. Command the devil, sickness, disease, pain and suffering to GO in Jesus Name – you have another appointment in Him, and that appointment is supernatural, overflowing, and abundant life in Jesus Christ our Lord. You may feel like a prisoner because of your circumstance, but rejoice because God’s will IS to LOOSE you from it. Begin to praise Him for it.
You Are An Overcomer Through Jesus Christ!
1 John 4:4 “. . . . greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
1 John 5:4 “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
NOTE – In John 17:14 Jesus states that we as believer’s are not of the world. Sickness, disease and failure belong to the world. As a believer, we are given the right to overcome that which comes against us by holding fast to the Word of God. While we do not deny that the problem or circumstance exists, we do however deny it the right to stay through our faith in God and His Word!!! Know this: Faith in God is victory all of the time!!!
Romans 8:31 “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us”
NOTE – You are a winner, you are victorious through the Lord Jesus Christ. Begin to see yourself the way God sees you.
1 John 4:17 ” Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.”
NOTE – Not only can we have boldness in the day of judgment, but we can have boldness now in this life, in the face of adversity, knowing who we are in Christ, knowing what belongs to us in Him and tenaciously holding onto it, refusing what the enemy wants us to have. As this verse says so clearly, as He is, so are we in this world. Think about that for a moment, how is He now? He is not sick, He is not diseased – it can’t touch Him, and we are His body – the body of Christ. Insist on having the blessing of the Lord manifested in you – praise Him for it now, worship Him!!!
1 Corinthians 6:15-17 “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.”
NOTE – I can’t say it any clearer than this verse – we are one with Jesus Christ now. Sickness has no right to Him, so it has no legal right to us. It is illegal and off limits, it has no right to stay. Take a firm stand and run off the attack and the lies of the enemy. You belong to the Lord, you are washed in His precious Blood, the covenant Blood. Command sickness, disease to leave and insist on your covenant rights now, and don’t quit until it changes and becomes just as the Word says it should be!!!
2 Peter 1:3-4 “As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
NOTE – Notice the past tense use of “has” given us all things that pertain to life!!! The blessing of health was purchased for us at the cross, it belongs to you now. Notice the importance of the Word of God – the precious promises. Your healing must be rooted steadfastly on the Word, not on what you see or how you feel. Also, did you take note of the fact that we are partakers of His divine nature! I guarantee you that His nature is total health and well being. Expect it!
1 Corinthians 1:9 “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
NOTE – The word “fellowship” is a strong covenant word in the original Greek text. It means: intimacy, partnership and participation, and is also the word for communion. In other words, because we are born-again, we have been given the right to share intimately, in partnership and participation in His life. Know that He is life, the purest form of life, and He’s called us to share intimately in it with Him. It’s a place where sickness and disease have no right. This is your birthright, count on it and expect it. And I love how this verse starts out – God is faithful. He’s faithful to His Covenant Word, and to His covenant people, He’s faithful to YOU!
Romans 5:17 “For if by the one man’s offense [Adam] death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ.”
NOTE – I love this verse! Did you notice, it did not say you might or you possibly could, it says you will reign in life (this life in the here and now). Are you reigning in life or are you being rained on? If you are not experiencing victory, know that it is a breech of the Word of God for it to remain and become the norm. Get mad, with a righteous indignation, and command the circumstances to leave and take hold of the victory that is yours through the Word. For this is the will of God!
Genesis 1:28 “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
NOTE – The red blood cells of your body already obey this verse, as they are being multiplied and replenished every 80 – 120 days! Look at the rest of what God said to mankind – subdue and have dominion… over every living thing! Wow! That includes cancer, bacteria, parasites, viruses and all microorganisms that cause sickness and disease. He gave the blessing, He gave the command, He gave you the right – now do it. Put your foot down on sickness and disease and command it to go – it has no right to stay, You are a blood bought child of God!!! Don’t put up with it another minute, subdue and take dominion!
Colossians 1:13 “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love”
NOTE – To be conveyed is to be transferred, removed out of one and placed into another. The power of darkness which includes the curse, no longer has a hold on us as we are now members of a different kingdom – the Kingdom of God, which is the Kingdom of Life! There is no sickness and no disease in the kingdom of God.
Make Jesus The Lord Of Your Life, Reverence Him By Closing All Doors To The Enemy, Giving Him First Place!
Proverbs 3:7-8 “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.”
NOTE – The term “fear the Lord” means to reverence and worship the Lord in all things.
Exodus 15:26 “If thou will diligently harken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put (permit) none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”
Exodus 23:25 “So you shall serve (worship) the Lord your God and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.”
NOTE – True worship from the heart is a key to walking in divine health. It brings forth humility of heart and opens the door for His life to flow. Close every door to the devil that you are aware of. Take time each day to worship and love on God from your heart.
Psalm 91:9-10 “Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the Most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.”
Malachi 4:2-3 “But unto you that fear (reverence, worship) My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. You shall trample the wicked for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this says the Lord of hosts”
NOTE – I love this scripture! This verse is a great promise and even tells us when it became a reality for us. “On the day that I do this,” was at Calvary. Now the enemy is as “ashes” under our feet and healing and protection belong to us. See Luke 10:19 also.
Know That When You Ask The Lord For Healing, It Is Already His Will And He Hears You And He Agrees. Know He Has Already Settled It In The Atonement Of The Blood Of Jesus Christ – He Says “Yes”!
Psalm 30:2 “O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.”
Psalm 107:19-20 “Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”
Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
NOTE – The word “ask” in the Greek has the meaning of insistent asking with a knowing of what belongs to the one making the request. Presenting a solid requisition to God, knowing He longs to distribute what He has to the one in need. Look at James 1:5-8 – we must ask in faith, and faith always knows, it never wishes!
I John 5:14-15 “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”
NOTE – The Word of God is the will of God. If you can find it in the Word of God then you can be assured that it is the will of God. The Lord is not trying to keep healing from you, He is trying to get it to you – Just Believe!
2 Corinthians 1:20 “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”
NOTE – Notice that according to God all of His promises towards us are “YES” and amen (so be it!) or it is settled! There aren’t any “no’s” from the Lord toward us when it comes to performing His Word in our behalf. – Now that’s good news!
Psalm 35:27 “Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”
NOTE – At first glance you may think this scripture refers only to prosperity or wealth. The word in the Hebrew for prosperity here is “shalom” and we know it as the word for peace. However, in the Hebrew this word literally means health, prosperity and peace – wholeness, welfare. So you can clearly see the mind of God who takes pleasure in the health, wholeness, prosperity and peace of we His children! He’s excited for us to have it. Once you get ahold of this, praise and adoration will naturally flow forth in pure appreciation for who He is to us and all that He has already done for us. Fear and doubt will no longer have a place in your thinking. What an awesome God He is!!!
The Will Of God Is His Blessing Of Goodness That Is For You Now!
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (an expected end).”
NOTE – Again, the word for peace here in the Hebrew is the word shalom and implies the meaning of health and prosperity, which is obviously His will as it is the end or goal that the Lord is expecting for us. Begin to expect it – yes, that’s right – get your hopes way up!
Luke 12:32 “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
NOTE – Along with the kingdom, come all of the kingdom blessings and benefits! Realize that it gives God pleasure to give to you, after all He is a giver – He is love and love gives. So cast of fear, and put a smile on your face- you are rich in Him. Just receive it.
Psalm 121:7-8 “The Lord shall preserve (keep) you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul (life). The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth and even forevermore.”
NOTE – Notice He said He would keep or preserve us from all evil. This surely includes sickness and disease. The word for preserve means to guard, to keep, to hedge about, to protect, to attend to. Praise the Lord! His will is to do this now and forevermore. Begin to thank Him and praise Him for it.
Hebrews 13:20-21 (Amplified Version) “Now may the God of peace [Who is the Author and the Giver of peace], Who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood [that sealed, ratified] the everlasting agreement (covenant, testament), strengthen (complete, perfect) and make you what you ought to be and equip you with everything good that you may carry out His will; [while He Himself] works in you and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ (the Messiah); to Whom be the glory forever and ever (to the ages of the ages). Amen (so be it).
NOTE – I love how the Amplified Version brings out the truth and clarity intended through the original Greek language. The author of Hebrews is praying a blessing in accordance with the will of God for completeness and wholeness which is intended through the Blood Covenant. May you be strengthened, be made complete and be perfected, be made what you ought to be (because of the shed Blood) and equipped with everything good so you can accomplish His will! Wow! This absolutely includes healing, health and wholeness. Our God has a purpose and a plan for you and He wants you to accomplish it now in Jesus Name! That is His will, rise up and believe it, receive it and act upon it!!!.
Psalm 68:19 “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation!”
NOTE – This is the heart of the Father toward us. Daily it is His will to bring us to the place of the realization of His benefits for us. And if we don’t realize them today, He loads us up again the next, and the next and so on. Notice it connects the benefits to salvation. The word here for salvation is the Hebrew word Yeshuwah, and it means delieverance, to give aid to, prosperity, victory and even includes health! It is interesting that this is a similar Hebrew word for the Name Jesus – Yashua, which means He shall save. And that is exactly what Jesus purchased for us on the cross – salvation, deliverance and wholeness.. Insist upon and receive your benefits today, they belong to you. Put your foot down on sickness and disease and command it to leave, it does not belong to you, it definitely is NOT a benefit and as such is not yours.
The Word Of God Brings Healing!
Acts 20:32 (Amplified Version) And now [brethren], I commit you to God [I deposit you in His charge, entrusting you to His protection and care]. And I commend you to the Word of His grace [to the commands and counsels and promises of His unmerited favor]. It is able to build you up and to give you [your rightful] inheritance among all God’s set-apart ones (those consecrated, purified, and transformed of soul)
NOTE – Oh the power of the Word of God – it is designed, ordained, and anointed to build you up, to strengthen and bring healing, stability, wholeness and deliverance. AND it releases your inheritance as a child of God. All of who He is and all of what He has. Don’t fret about what is, get into His Word and allow the Word to manifest the Life of God – His Grace – into your moment. As a believer, you’re in the Family of God – expect the Family benefits.
Psalm 119:50 “This is my comfort in my affliction, for your Word has given my life.”
Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”
NOTE – Faith for healing comes by hearing God’s Word concerning healing. So just as you may be taking medicine two or three times a day, do the same thing with the promises in the Word of God regarding healing, and allow your faith to be built up! You’ll be amazed at the change that will take place.
Proverbs 4:20-22 “My Son, attend to My words; incline thine ear unto My sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health (Lit. medicine) to all their flesh.”
NOTE – Here it is as plain as it can be: the taking of God’s Word is life and medicine to your flesh. So just don’t take your prescribed natural medicine alone, add the Word of God along with it. Prescribed medicine can heal and help some things, but God’s medicine can heal all.
John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
NOTE – The Word of God is truth see John 17:17. Once you know the truth concerning healing in God’s redemptive plan, then you can begin to exercise faith and expect the promises of God to manifest in you – and they will – REJOICE!!!
Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not My word like a fire? says the LORD, And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”
NOTE – Get this fact down deep into your heart. The Word of God IS an all consuming fire that will melt away and burn off that which is not of God, and a powerful crushing force to break apart even the toughest and most stubborn circumstances. Continue taking the hammer of God’s Word and continue to hit the situations in your life that are not of God, until they give way and become exactly as the Word says they should be. Persistence breaks down resistance!
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
NOTE – Does your body and or mind need correction? God’s Word is just the medicine. According to this verse, we see that it is His will that you may be complete and thoroughly equipped for every good work. If you are sick you cannot fully do the work of the ministry- know that God wants you to be able bodied, a living example in every area of His grace, mercy and power.
John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”
NOTE – God’s Word is healing, it will bring health to your flesh. See Proverbs 4:22. That’s why it is so important to continue to go over the healing scriptures daily, therefore building your faith in the area of healing, imparting the very life of God into your cells as well as your mind. Fill up on God’s Word!
John 15:7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”
Isaiah 55:11 “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
NOTE – God’s Word on healing will accomplish healing in you.
Jeremiah 1:12 “. . . . I am alert and active watching over My Word to perform it.” Amplified Bible
NOTE – God is looking, searching eagerly for someone to take Him at His Word so that He can perform it on their behalf.
Joshua 21:45 “Not a word failed of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.”
NOTE – How much more sure is this promise to us since our covenant with God is based upon the shed Blood of Jesus Christ!
Leviticus 18: 4-5 “You shall observe My judgments and keep My ordinances, to walk in them: I am the Lord your God. 5 You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man does, he shall live by them: I am the Lord.”
NOTE – Here we see the importance of walking in obedience to the Word of God, which if a man does, he shall live by them… The key phrase here is “he shall live” and it’s actually just one word in the Hebrew language: chayay. This word just doesn’t mean to sustain life, barely getting by, but literally means to live prosperously, with vibrancy, being free or revived from sickness, faintness, discouragement, and even death. It carries with it the implied meaning of restoration, revival, and even growth or increase of well being. If we had to apply a single word to this, it would be to flourish or to thrive in life to its full. Now you can see the true meaning of this passage. If a man applies himself to the Word in obedience, he will flourish in all areas of life and thrive and increase! This not only includes healing and health but all other areas of our life as well, financial, emotional, relational, intellectual, etc.
Healing Is A Good Gift From God!
James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
NOTE – Healing is a wonderful gift from God, and here again is another proof that He does not change. What He did yesterday He will do again today – Praise the Lord, He is still the Healer!!!
1 Corinthians 3:21-22 “Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come–all are yours.”
NOTE – This says it so clear; the Lord is holding nothing back from us. Surely healing is included in the claim of “all things” and certainly is included in the word “life.” Begin to praise the Lord for your healing which is a gift to you from the Lord, and the manifestation that will come as you receive the promise by faith.
Romans 11:29 “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”
NOTE – He’s the giver of gifts and He doesn’t take them back, they cannot be canceled out!
Philippians 2:13 “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for his good pleasure.”
Matthew 11:28 (Amplified Version) “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]”
NOTE – The word ‘rest’ here literally means to cease from toil or labor in order to recover and collect his strength, and implies a feeling of wholeness and well being. Place your focus onto Jesus and all that He has purchased for you. Take the focus off of the circumstances, and begin praising Him for all that He has done for you. As a child of God, you are highly favored by God – He’s given it all to you. Spend time each day just loving on God. Come to Him through intimate worship, and experience this rest.
Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.
NOTE – This Scripture makes it so clear that healing and health belong to you and your posterity – your family line. Healing has been revealed to us through the Word of God – declared to us through the shed covenant Blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. Every Scripture on this page is declaring your revealed covenant right. Dig in and take hold of it by faith and refuse to let go of your birthright!!!
Isaiah 33:24 “And the inhabitant will not say, “I am sick”; the people who dwell in it (Zion) will be forgiven their iniquity.”
NOTE – While this chapter in Isaiah is dealing with impending judgment with God’s people (Zion) for repentance, notice that the forgiveness of their iniquity also provided for the healing of their bodies. How much more does this apply for us now in this time, having Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, who has redeemed us from the curse of the Law being made a curse for us (Gal. 3:13) who by His stripes we were healed (1 Peter 2:24), has made this scripture a reality to us (spiritual Zion) through His shed Blood on the cross!!!
We Have Been Redeemed Out From Under The Bondage Of Sickness & Disease!
Galatians 3:13-14 “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessings of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ.”
NOTE – The curse of the law includes sickness and disease and is found in Deuteronomy 28:15-68. The first 14 verses of the chapter pertain to the blessing, and the rest of the chapter describes the curse! By the shed Blood of Jesus Christ we were purchased out of or out from under the curse!!! Especially look at verse 61, it states: “all sickness and all disease in the world, even those not written in the Book, (is included in the curse)” – so therefore we are redeemed from it all!!!
Proverbs 26:2 “Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight.”
NOTE – As we continue in Christ, the curse has no right to take root in our lives. Take a firm stand against it, and command its effects to leave in the Name of Jesus! You are a child of the King.
Romans 8:2 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
NOTE: And the effects of death and the curse!
Colossians 1:13 “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love”
NOTE – Remember there is no sickness or disease in the kingdom of God! Here again is another wonderful scripture proving your birthright of healing.
1 John 3:8b “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” Take a look at this same verse in the Amplified version – “The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done].”
NOTE -There is no doubt that sickness and disease are works of the devil, introduced to mankind through the fall as part of the curse. This Scripture is very clear that Jesus came to undo the works of the devil. Be assured that He accomplished His task- further proof that sickness and disease have no legal right to remain in your body as a child of God! Command it to go in Jesus Name!
2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
NOTE – If you are born-again, if you’ve asked Jesus to come into your heart, then you are saved, you are a child of God and the Spirit of God dwells within your heart – make no mistake about it!!! Therefore, according to this Scripture, freedom and liberty from bondage in any form belong to you, and you should expect it. It’s your covenant right. Receive this personally as the truth that it is for you right now!!! Lift your hands to the Lord and begin to praise Him and worship Him for His goodness to you.
John 8:36 “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
NOTE – The Greek thought here is not just free, but undeniably and unquestionably free. The Amplified version reads: “So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free.” Let this truth of victory soak down deep into your heart and dispel all thoughts of doubt and fear. Praise God, sickness and disease have no right to be in us, they cannot stay, they have to go! Shout it out – “I’m a free man!!!”
Snap Out Of That Depression, Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude!
Hebrews 12:12-13 “Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.”
NOTE – Real faith rejoices at the promises of God as if it were experiencing them already. Get the focus off of your problem and on to the answer which are the promises of God – His Word. REJOICE! Get happy, it’s all yours!
Psalm 42:11 “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”
We Can Have Confidence In Him, For God Cannot Lie!
Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised)”
NOTE – Remember Hebrews 6:18 says that it is impossible for God to lie!
I John 5:14-15 “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”
NOTE – It’s easy to know the will of God. The Word of God is the will of God! Jeremiah 1:12 says that He watches over His Word to perform it. So when you ask Him, and believe the Word of God, you are asking and believing according to His will and you will receive, just as it says!
Hebrews 10:35-36 “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.”
NOTE – Remember that the will of God is the Word of God!
Long Life Belongs To You – Don’t Give up!!!
Base Your Faith On The Promises Of God.
Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
NOTE – Did you see it! The promise of God is that you live a good long life, even to 120 years if you so desire!. Speak to that mountain of death and command it to be removed. Begin to grab hold of this promise of long life and lay claim to it with your spoken words.. Don’t settle for less than what God has promised, don’t let the devil steal from you – go on and live a long life fulfilling your days, calling and ministry upon this Earth!
Psalm 90:10 “The days of our lives are seventy years; and if by reason of strength they are eighty years, yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.”
NOTE – Many take this verse to be the cap that God has set for mankind’s lifespan upon the earth. But nothing could be further from the truth. This psalm was written by Moses and this verse pertains to the disobedient children of Israel that came out of Egypt being led by Moses who, because of their unbelief, were condemned to live out their lives wandering in the desert until each one had died. Only their children, along with Joshua and Caleb, would enter into the Promised Land. Moses went on to live to 120 years and the scripture says that his strength had not departed him and his eyes were not dim. He also was very able to climb the mountain God had commanded him to climb where he died. Joshua and Caleb also lived to be over 100. You’re not and unbeliever, you’re a believer! Expect long life – even to 120.
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
NOTE – Just as it was when this was spoken to the children of Israel, it is true for us today – we need to make up our minds and choose life – it’s there for us. When we do, then we must adhere to the prescribed formula for that life: that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice (His Word), and that you may cling to Him. Fall in love with Jesus, fall in love with the Word – health and life will be a natural result!
Job 5:26 “You shall come to the grave at a full age, as a sheaf of grain ripens in its season.”
Psalm 91:16 “With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”
NOTE – Here God is saying live until you’re satisfied!
Psalm 118:17 “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.”
NOTE – Agree with this right now! Declare it with your voice! God has a plan for your life here on the Earth. Don’t let the enemy steal it away. You can do what God says you can do, you can be what God says you can be!
Cast Down Those Thoughts and Imaginations That Don’t Line Up With The Word Of God!
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”
NOTE – Keep your focus on the promises of God – you have to make yourself stay focused. Don’t allow your mind to stray – the manifestation of your healing is on it’s way!
State Your Case To God!
Isaiah 43:25-26 “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins. Put Me in remembrance; let us contend together; state your case, that you may be acquitted.”
NOTE – Your case was settled when Jesus went to the cross in your behalf! If you have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord then “It is finished!!!”
Your Words Are Important!
Isaiah 57:19 “I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.”
NOTE – The word “fruit” here means produce. God creates what you produce from your mouth when we believe and speak out the Word of God.
Mark 11:22-23 “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
NOTE – What kind of mountains or obstacles do you have in your life right now? Obey Jesus and command that mountain of pain, cancer, disease etc., to go now out of your body in the Name of Jesus. Jesus said you can have what you say. Begin to call your body whole, healed, well – don’t stop, don’t listen to your body, don’t listen to doubt and fear, listen only to Jesus, listen to His Word!
Job 22:26-28 “For then you will delight in the Almighty, and lift up your face to God. You will pray to Him, and He will hear you; and you will pay your vows. You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; and light will shine on your ways.
NOTE – Give voice to the promises in the Word, and lay claim to them as your inheritance. Decree that you are healed! “Lord, you said that by your stripes I am healed, so on the authority of Your Word, I decree that I am healed and that sickness and disease have no legal right or hold on me and they must go in the Name of Jesus!”
Remember To Give Testimony Of Your Healing!
Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…”
NOTE – When your healing manifests itself and you recover and have the opportunity to testify to the grace of the Lord – Do it!!! The Lord wants you to give glory to Him for what He has done and it will also serve to help build faith in someone else who has a need.
Hold On To Your Healing
Nahum 1:7,9b “The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him…. He will make an utter end of it. Affliction will not rise up a second time.”
NOTE – After you’ve received the manifestation of healing, this becomes your stand of faith!
